day 3 of #the100dayproject (writing my life story for our kids). ⠀ ⠀ I’ve scanned pieces of this assessment to include in my story. It was done as a part of a principal’s additional qualifications course I was taking (I never wanted to be a school principal but I was interested in learning more about leadership and better understanding their work. I was a consultant at the time and worked with principals a lot.)⠀ ⠀ We had to complete a questionnaire and then wait to get our results. I remember reading mine and not feeling too surprised by it. But one thing did hit me. The scores around my levels of happiness.⠀ ⠀ They were the lowest. ⠀ ⠀ “An insufficient amount of time may be set aside or available for relaxation. It is possible that the negative outlook can impair her own functioning. If negative moods are extreme, the impairment can be severe and should be a serious cause for concern.”⠀ ⠀ “Lainie probably has a poor and inaccurate self-image and inadequate self-respect. Self confidence may be lacking most of the time, or at least, in certain situations. There may be some apprehension about saying something inappropriate or making a mistake. Responses also indicate dissatisfaction or discomfort regarding physical appearance.”⠀ ⠀ my lowest sub scales: self-regard, happiness, self-actualization.⠀ ⠀ my highest sub scales: social responsibility, problem solving, empathy ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ This was in 2012. And some things have really changed (creating more time for relaxation and enjoyment) and others are still hard for me at times (having more confidence and treating myself kindly). a notebook filled, means a chance to design and fill a new one. I love doing this.⠀ ⠀ I just randomly flip through magazines and pull out pieces that stand out to me for some reason. after, I go through the pile and decide what I might use. some pieces are cut and used. some are tucked away for a future project.⠀ ⠀ my favourite part is that by the end of the notebook, when I look back to the cover, the words and images have meaning. either they were things I needed to hear or I can see how they played out in my work or life. Day 2 of #the100dayproject (I’m writing my life story for our kids).⠀ ⠀ I’ve been playing with the idea of using the Hero’s Journey as a possible structure to tell my story. I love the terms: The Call to Adventure, Meeting a Mentor, Tests... and the concept of a journey. The hero part, not so much. And yet we really are the hero’s of our own stories.⠀ ⠀ I have a few stories that can match up to some of the stages. I’m just not sure how everything will fall in between or if there’s a better structure to use. ⠀ ⠀ But it’s a start and I can always move the stories around to make it a more interesting read for the kids ❤️⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ P.S.
