What would you say to your 16 year old self? What would you want him or her to know?
This may seem a bit creepy but this is a letter from your future 38 year old self. See! I told you this is weird, but stick with me.
I know that right now you don’t feel like you fit in. You love to read. You work in a library after school and you can do cross-stitch. Yep, I know about that. But do you know that in 20 years, people will think that it’s cool that you are crafty. Really! There are tons of Instagrammers posting pics of what they have created. 1,200 likes for a cross stitched fox. Seriously. Being a maker is a thing. You’ll find your people. Keep taking art. You enjoy it.
And don’t worry about trying to be someone else. You don’t need to try out for the volleyball or soccer team. Find what you love, pursue it, and surround yourself with good people. Mom and Dad just want you to be happy. And trust me, I’m looking at your future husband right now (he’s hot and is the sweetest person ever) and your three cute kids, you’ve done very well.
Go get em’, kid.
